NEW YORK — After Thai pro-democracy activist Netiwit Chotiphatphaisal invited prominent dissidents and activists to Chulalongkorn University’s student orientation to speak about Thailand’s struggle for democracy, school officials threatened disciplinary actions on him and his fellow students. These threats are clear attempts to silence them from criticizing the country’s regime on school campus. HRF urges Chulalongkorn University to respect freedom of expression and academic freedom so that students can learn.
