In a new op-ed in the @washingtonpost , HRF argues that any diplomatic thaw or sanctions relief for Cuba must be preceded by a non-negotiable, public condition: the unconditional release of all Cuban political prisoners.

A government that seeks dollars while jailing dissidents is not “reforming” — it is refinancing repression.

This geopolitical opening must not be wasted on a deal that leaves Cuban dissidents behind.
