HRF Demands Release of American Journalist in Zimbabwe

O’Donovan was arrested on November 3 in Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital, for allegedly tweeting — almost a month ago — that President Robert Mugabe was a “very selfish and sick man,” along with a photo accusing him of using a catheter. O’Donovan is being charged with “undermining the authority of or insulting the president.” She is due back in court on November 15.
