Many donors prefer to make gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or EFTs because it can have a lasting impact on our mission, while maximizing potential tax benefits by avoiding paying capital gains tax. Twitter Tip Jar
HRF now accepts donations in cash and bitcoin made through the Twitter mobile app on iOS and Android devices. Twitter recently introduced the Tips feature as a way to support the work of the incredible creators, journalists, experts, and nonprofits using the app. To check out the HRF Tip Jar, all you need to do is visit our profile on the Twitter mobile app and click the Tips icon located next to the follow button.
You can also donate to HRF using Facebook! All you have to do is visit The Human Rights Foundation’s Facebook profile page and click the “Donate” button. Then select your gift amount, donation frequency, and payment method, and bam! You’re all set.
Donor-advised funds, such as Vanguard, Schwab Charitable, and Fidelity Charitable, are becoming increasingly popular ways to give. Donor Advised Funds allow donors to make charitable contributions to organizations, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund over time.
When you sign up for Amazon Smile, 0.5% of all your subsequent Amazon purchases will automatically be donated to HRF! Visit smile.amazon.com and select the Human Rights Foundation as your charity of your choice. This is one of the simplest ways you can donate on an ongoing basis.
Corporate Gift Matching
Many US-based companies will match up to 100% of their employees’ charitable contributions, essentially doubling your impact. Check to see if your employer will match your donation to HRF here.
Leaving HRF a gift in your will or giving us a percentage of your estate allows you to create a lasting legacy of protecting human rights.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
Qualified charitable distributions (QCDs), tax-free gifts made from a traditional IRA, are the fastest growing type of philanthropy. Donors who are 70+ and who have an IRA will avoid any taxes on QCD donations, while making a significant impact on HRF’s mission. Click here to learn more.
