Pastor Jin’s case is part of a broader crackdown on religious freedom by the Chinese Communist Party. Dozens of Zion Church pastors were arrested in October 2025, and eight remain in detention. His release is an encouraging step, but the persecution of independent religious communities in China continues. The international community should maintain pressure until the remaining pastors are freed.
