Job Overview

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is seeking a strategic, data-savvy, and mission-driven Digital Marketing Manager to lead the organizationтАЩs digital engagement and growth strategy. This role will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive digital marketing initiatives that grow HRFтАЩs audience across platformsтАФdriving increases in social media reach, email subscribers, web traffic, and event engagement, with a particular focus on expanding the global visibility of the Oslo Freedom Forum. The Digital Marketing Manager will own HRFтАЩs email and social media programs, lead on constituent data analysis and segmentation, collaborate closely with the web and editorial teams, and work extensively with CRM and database tools, including Salesforce and Airtable. The ideal candidate combines creativity with technical fluency in data and analytics, and a deep understanding of how to convert digital engagement into long-term audience growth.

 

Responsibilities and Expectations

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • Develop and execute a data-driven digital marketing strategy to grow and engage HRFтАЩs global audience across email, social media, and web platforms.
  • Oversee and manage HRFтАЩs social media presence, including growth strategy, calendar planning, performance tracking, and community engagement. Work closely with subject matter experts and creative team on the creation of social posts.
  • Own email marketing strategy, execution, and optimizationтАФincluding campaign planning, audience segmentation, content development, A/B testing, automation, and analytics.
  • Lead digital marketing and audience growth efforts for the Oslo Freedom Forum, including multi-channel campaigns and targeted outreach.
  • Manage and analyze constituent data using Salesforce, Airtable, and other CRM tools to drive segmentation, personalization, and targeted marketing.
  • Collaborate with the web team to optimize website content and landing pages to drive traffic, signups, and conversions and to ensure that social and email channels consistently drive website traffic.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to evaluate campaign performance, audience trends, and engagement metrics, and use insights to continuously improve strategy.
  • Maintain and update marketing databases to ensure data accuracy and campaign effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for paid social media, SEO/SEM, and digital advertising, in coordination with leadership and external partners as needed.
  • Establish social media monitoring protocols for security and risk management. Take responsibility for security, privacy and regulatory compliance of HRF constituent data usage.
  • Advise on digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices in the nonprofit, human rights, and advocacy spaces.
  • Ensure all digital content is aligned with HRFтАЩs brand voice, mission, and strategic objectives.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with strong proficiency in email marketing, social media, and CRM/database management.
  • Proven track record of using data analytics and segmentation to drive campaign success and audience growth.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Airtable, and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Pardot, or similar).
  • Strong copywriting and content strategy skills across email and social media formats.
  • Experience leading digital marketing for major initiatives or eventsтАФexperience with conferences or high-profile campaigns is a plus.
  • Skilled in using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Insights, and UTM tracking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience building digital audiences for major media organizations, thought leadership events, or multinational organizations
  • Passion for human rights and a commitment to HRFтАЩs mission.
