Roberto González is HRF’s chief advocacy officer. An attorney admitted to practice in New York, he graduated cum laudefrom Rafael Landívar University, earning a Bachelor of Law degree. He also holds a master’s in international law and justice from Fordham University School of Law. As a part of the Human Rights Foundation’s Center for Law and Democracy, González’s research focused on comparative constitutional law and international law. He is an alumnus of the Washington College of Law’s Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. González’s opinions on democracy and international law have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, CNN en Español, El País, National Review, and Voice of America. As a corporate attorney, González was an associate at Milbank LLP, where he was a member of the Alternative Investments Practice, representing asset managers in the issuance of securities and structured credit transactions, in particular of collateralized loan obligations.
