HRF Wear Your Values Program Wins Two Anthem Awards

NEW YORK, NEW YORK (Jan. 30, 2024) тАФ The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is pleased to announce that its Wear Your Values (WYV) program video has won the Anthem Community Voice Award and the Silver Anthem Award in the Human Rights and Civil Rights Category.

The Anthem Awards, a brainchild of the prestigious Webby Awards, is the тАЬlargest and most comprehensive social impact award,тАЭ honoring individuals and organizations doing purpose and mission-driven work.

HRFтАЩs WYV program video highlights the fashion industryтАЩs complicity in human rights abuses worldwide, particularly Uyghur forced labor. Since 2017, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has arbitrarily detained more than one million Uyghurs and other Turkic and Muslim minorities in forced labor camps across China, where they are regularly subjected to human rights abuses. Today, one in five cotton garments in the apparel industry worldwide is linked to Uyghur forced labor.

WYV aims to bring awareness to the hidden social costs of the industry through educational articles, events, and exhibitions. Produced by Cultivator Content Labs, the WYV video features several program initiatives, including award-winning Swedish designer Louise XinтАЩs fashion show at the 2023 Oslo Freedom Forum, which was recently recognized by Le French Designs Top 100 Designs of 2024. As well as HRFтАЩs Discounted Lives installation, a fashion week projection campaign, and HRFтАЩs Uyghur Forced Labor Checker.

With the acclaim and recognition of the Anthem Awards, HRF will further engage consumers, demand transparency in global supply chains, and hold the fashion industry accountable.

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that promotes and protects human rights globally, with a focus on closed societies.
