Vietnam activist sentenced to 13 years on subversion charges

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) strongly condemns the conviction of Vietnamese dissident Nguyen Van Tuc on the charge of “attempting to overthrow the government” for his participation in a pro-democracy group. Tuc was sentenced to 13 years in prison in a half-day trial at the People’s Court in Thai Binh province. He was also ordered to serve three years of house arrest after finishing his prison sentence.
