As Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Human Rights Foundation, Andrew Kolb is focused on elevating the voices of dissidents and developing narrative strategies to advance the cause of human rights. He is responsible for stewarding the organizationтАЩs brand and voice, including through its signature event, the Oslo Freedom Forum.
Andrew joined HRF from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, where he served as Director of Communications and Advocacy. In this role, Andrew oversaw the organization’s media relations, digital communications, events, editorial processes, and government relations. Andrew helped coordinate the United States Election Program, which brought election professionals from around the world to experience the 2024 U.S. general election.
Prior to that, Andrew held communications leadership roles at transatlantic think tank the German Marshall Fund and at Conservation International. At the German Marshall Fund, Andrew helped reimagine the GMFтАЩs brand and positioned the organization’s experts to shed light on current events in the press–most notably during the early months of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At Conservation International, Andrew helped launch the Nature Is Speaking campaign, which won a Golden Lion at the Cannes Festival of Creativity.
Andrew is an alumnus of St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland and is a Defending Democracy Fellow of the Bertelsmann Foundation.
