Candace Bryan Abbey serves as the Head of Global Government Engagement at the Human Rights Foundation (HRF). As a seasoned leader and strategic advisor, she excels in navigating the intersection of the NGO and government sectors to drive coordination, cooperation, and impact. Candace brings more than 15 years of experience in the human rights field from her tenure at the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights & Justice, where she served as Director of Policy and Partnerships. After beginning her career on Wall Street, she spent a decade on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, serving as Chief of Staff for multiple members and working on the House Foreign Affairs Committee staff. She graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and studied at the London School of Economics. Candace lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two children and can usually be found somewhere watching soccer.
