Céline Assaf-Boustani is HRF’s president, leading the organization’s programs and campaigns. She joined HRF’s Center for Law and Democracy in 2014, focusing her legal and advocacy work on protecting freedom of expression in Arabic and French-speaking countries. She holds a master’s in international law from Columbia Law School and a master’s in French law from Pantheon-Assas Paris II, France. Boustani has spoken at numerous conferences and events, including the Oslo Freedom Forum, SXSW, and RightsCon. Her writing and views have appeared in international media outlets, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, Newsweek, and l’Express.
