Roberto González is the Chief Advocacy Officer at the Human Rights Foundation (HRF), where he co-leads HRF’s impact litigation and research programs. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University School of Law. A Guatemalan-born attorney based in New York, González specializes in corporate law, comparative constitutional law, and international human rights law. He earned his law degree cum laude from Rafael Landívar University and holds a master’s degree in International Law and Justice from Fordham University School of Law. He is also an alumnus of the Washington College of Law’s Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. Previously, González was an associate at Milbank LLP, where he was a member of the Alternative Investments Practice, representing asset managers in securities issuance and structured credit transactions, in particular of collateralized loan obligations. His commentary on democracy and international law has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, CNN, El País, Deutsche Welle, National Review, and Voice of America, among others.
