1/ At the 2025 @OsloFF, the panel тАЬVenezuela: A Challenge for Democratic Solidarity in Latin AmericaтАЭ brought together policymakers, diplomats, and civil society voices to discuss how Latin America and the international community can unite to defend democracy and support the Venezuelan peopleтАЩs struggle for freedom.
2/More than 800 political prisoners remain unlawfully detained in Venezuela. The regime continues to persecute opposition members, silence the press, and weaponize courts to cling to power after the stolen 2024 presidential election. Accountability is long overdue.
3/ Panelists included Spanish Sen. Juan Jos├й Matar├н, Chile’s human rights director Tom├бs Pascual Ricke, @mariacorinaya’s daughter @anacorinasosa, and OAS advisor @hectorschamis, and were moderated by HRF’s @JavierElHage.
