Alvaro Piaggio is a senior policy officer at the Human Rights Foundation (HRF), where he oversees the organization’s research and campaigns in the Americas. He also helms the Responsible Finance program, which brings awareness to the dangers of investing in countries ruled by authoritarian regimes. Piaggio has a background in business and economics and more than a decade of experience working on human rights and democracy issues in Latin America. He has co-authored several reports and op-eds on issues ranging from the “War on Drugs” to the broader threat of authoritarianism around the world.
