Céline joined HRF’s Center for Law and Democracy in 2014 to focus on the protection of freedom of expression in Arabic and French-speaking countries around the world. Her legal and advocacy work cover the Middle East and Africa. She has since co-authored a legal report on the case of Waleed Abu al-Khair in Saudi Arabia. She completed a master’s in international law at Columbia Law School, and she also holds a master’s in French Law from Pantheon-Assas Paris II, France. Celine was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, where she earned her Bachelor of Laws from Saint-Joseph University.
