Javier El-Hage is the chief legal and policy officer at the Human Rights Foundation (HRF), where he leads the organizationтАЩs impact litigation and research programs. He is a Bolivian-born New York attorney with expertise in corporate, financial, and international human rights law. El-Hage holds a law degree from Fordham University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also holds masterтАЩs degrees in international law from Columbia University School of Law and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. As a corporate attorney, El-Hage was an associate at Milbank LLP, where he was a member of the Global Capital Markets group and Alternative Investments Practice, representing investment banks and asset managers in the issuance of securities and structured credit transactions, in particular, of collateralized loan obligations. In 2021, El-Hage published тАЬFixing ESG: Are Mandatory ESG Disclosures the Solution to Misleading Ratings?тАЭ in the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law. His most recent areas of academic interest include the intersection of finance, technology, and international human rights.
