Breza Race is Program Director at CANVAS, a position she has held since 2007. Ms. Race organizes activities to raise funds or otherwise solicit and gather monetary donations or other gifts for CANVAS. She has successfully raised awareness of the organization’s work, goals, and financial needs to various donors and has developed a significant donor list for the organization. She corresponds with all external partners on strategic planning, fundraising, implementation, and evaluation of all the programs. Over the last 13 years, Breza has worked closely with pro-democracy activists from around 50 countries, helping them, among other things, to develop fundraising activities in the early stages of the movement.
Breza also created a postgraduate program at Belgrade University in Serbia on тАЬThe Strategy and Methods of Nonviolent Social Change.тАЭ She helped develop The CANVAS Core Curriculum: A Guide to Effective Nonviolent Struggle. From 2016 to 2018, she was a teaching assistant on the online executive course Leading Nonviolent Movements for Social Progress at the Harvard Kennedy School. Before working with CANVAS, she worked for the President of Serbia as a Project Coordinator for the тАШ1,000 Young Leaders of SerbiaтАЩ program and has significant experience working with youth activists around the world. Breza graduated from BelgradeтАЩs Faculty of Political Science with a degree in Social Policy.
