Deus Valentine Rweyemamu is a renowned democracy, governance, and development expert with extensive experience working in the Eastern Africa region. His work spans human rights, governance, electoral support, and advocacy with key regional and global players. He has held advisory roles with Global Affairs Canada, the EU, USAID, the UK Department for International Development, the Swedish International Development Agency, the Swiss Development Cooperation, the Danish International Development Agency, and the World Bank. Deus sits on the Research and Evaluation Advisory Group of Twaweza East Africa, as well as the Board of Trustees of Educate the Children Trust and the Institute for Peace and Reconciliation. He is CEO at the Center for Strategic Litigation which he co-founded in 2019 in response to a rule of law crisis observed in the region. He was the Independent Reviewer of the Open Government Partnership for the Kigoma Local OGP initiative. Valentine was recognized by the World Economic Forum to lead the Dar es Salaam hub of the Global Shapers community in 2014.
