Today, HRF launched a new resource to help activists and diaspora communities confront China’s transnational repression (TNR). Introducing “Toolkit to Counter the Chinese Communist Party’s Transnational Repression”.
Informed by the lived realities of young activists, the toolkit offers immediate protection guidance and long-term approaches on: Digital security, Physical safety, Building resilient communities in the face of authoritarian intimidation.
The toolkit comes at a critical moment. Ahead of Xi Jinping’s visit to the US, the violence faced by protesters during his last trip remains a troubling precedent. Extraterritorial provisions in China’s newly enacted ethnic unity law adds a new layer of risk.
Authoritarian repression doesn’t stop at borders. HRF firmly believes best practices for proactive and diaspora-centric protection must be in place for activists and communities on the frontlines.
Read, share, and help put these resources into the hands of those who need them most. Download the toolkit.
