Claudia Bennett is a legal and program officer at HRF, where she leads the Wear Your Values program and works on legal petitions for the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and Universal Periodic Reviews under HRF’s Impact Litigation Program. Prior to joining HRF, Bennett worked at NGOs at the intersection of international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and national security law. She also provided direct support and relief to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece. Bennett’s opinions have been featured in BBC, Newsweek, and the New York Post. Bennett holds a Juris Doctor with a concentration in international law from Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in human rights and art history from Bard College. She is admitted to practice law in New York.
