Authoritarianism is at the root of human rights abuses in Laos. The Lao government’s desire to profit from development projects has displaced thousands of communities. HRF’s report provides an overview of how irresponsible foreign investment and corruption perpetrate human rights abuses and urges for both the government and stakeholders to uphold their obligation to respect and uphold human rights.
