In less than two months, the Oslo Freedom Forum community will gather in Oslo to hear incredible stories from frontline human rights defenders and to discuss and create practical, innovative solutions to expose injustice and build movements for freedom.

Our interactive programming will feature panel discussions, deep dives, fireside chats, and workshops in the afternoons of May 23, 24, and 25. Our engaging speakers will cover and debate the most pressing issues facing our world today, which we have divided into four thematic areas, each one offering a different perspective on this year’s overall theme, Champion of Change.

Visit our website to learn more about our programming and upcoming speakers.

Successful movements rely on the passion and commitment of their fiercest champions. This track will explore the environmental impact of dictatorships, the threat posed to LGBTQI+ rights in authoritarian regimes, the transnational repression of journalists, and much more.

Justice is the bedrock of a prosperous and free society, as it allows everyday citizens to hold those in power accountable for their actions. In this track, learn how activists and their allies expose corruption and abuse, and promote a more just and free society.

Over the past decade, authoritarian regimes have manipulated digital technologies to encroach upon civil liberties, censor dissidents, and spread discord. This track will shine light on the spyware used by authoritarian regimes, and offer digital security training sessions led by companies like Twitter, Yubico, and Citizen Lab.

In today’s world, more and more authoritarian regimes are devaluing their national currencies, stealing from ordinary citizens, and freezing the bank accounts of activists and dissidents. In partnership with Seetee, this track will explore how digital currencies are helping activists turn the tide in favor of human rights, democracy, and freedom.
